Summer Adventure Club 2022

“Our yearly Summer Adventure Club has come to an end- so sad! This year we got to learn about wildfire safety, participate in weekly cooking classes, and have a full day of recreation with North Fresno Church’s youth group. Our students enjoyed our Friday field trips to the zoo, bowling at Fresno State, and spent an afternoon canoeing on one of our local lakes. First Job for Two Wonderful Young Ladies!

One of the great things about Roadrunner Central (RRC) that we have not talked about much is the staff. Amanda would not have been able to run the program without quality staff. We want to highlight two of the RRC staff, Batoul and Liberty,  because FACE was able to employ them with their first job experience. Batoul, 18, brought a meek and caring spirit to our program. This year’s hybrid event offered both an in-person gathering as well as a live-stream option so that many could be connected. It was so great to be able to gather in person after 2 years of virtual-only events. The evening featured videos highlighting some stories of the impact of FACE. We also had a Wall of Fame featuring 10 individuals who have been part of the programs of FACE and who are now working and providing for themselves and their families in meaningful ways. Kresge Foundation Award to FACE

We are honored to announce that FACE is one of eight Fresno community-based organizations, working to strengthen neighborhoods in Fresno, that was awarded grant money from the Kresge Foundation.  The Kresge Community Support: Fresno grant aims to support the growth of the city’s community development infrastructure, and in turn, improve the quality of life for residents in Fresno neighborhoods.
